Jon is a high-energy, veteran inventor and executive with more than thirty years experience in the software industry. He is an economist by schooling, an executive through experience, and a technologist through passion. Jon has advised C-level executives, re-organized struggling delivery teams, and served on private advisory and corporate boards. He is currently Principal Architect and CEO of Digital Architects®.
Jon has architected software that has received numerous industry awards including six IBM Excellence Awards, two Sky-End Accounting Awards and three PC Magazine Editor’s Choice Awards. Jon has a long history of industry firsts in delivering business application suites on next generation technology. As chief architect and lead technologist, some of his product achievements include:
One of the first three accounting product suites for the IBM PC in 1981
One of the first two "network-generation" C product suites in 1986
The first accounting product suite on Windows 3.1, OS/2 2.0 and Windows NT (these products were part of the initial IBM OS/2 and Microsoft Windows NT rollouts) in the early 1990's
The first Java-based, integrated, "shrink-wrapped" accounting suite e-commerce products in 1998
First generation iPhone applications in 2008
Inventor on a 2011 patent in software automation and other currently pending software patents
In 1999, Computers in Accounting Magazine referred to Jon as "a major programmer domo… responsible for more accounting software code than any other one person on the face of the earth."
During the past 16 years, Jon has led teams to deliver over 200 enterprise projects to dozens of clients. Jon is a former Alaskan outback guide and current PADI SCUBA Instructor, who when not building software can be found somewhere outside and probably in the water.
